Freedom of Information

The Village Clerk serves as the Freedom of Information Officer. Requests for information can be mailed, faxed or emailed to the Bull Valley Village Clerk

The Village of Bull Valley is an incorporated municipality in McHenry County Illinois that represents the resi­dents of the municipality in the interest of their health, welfare and safety. The Village is small, with a population of 1128 in the 2021 census, but spread out over and area of approximately nine square miles. It has one Village Hall in an historic 1800’s Georgian style residence that was formerly home to the first family to settle in the area. It currently has three full-time employees, eight part-time employees, and an operating budget of approximately $850-$900,000 annually.

The structure of the Village consists of:

  • President and Board of Trustees – Meets on the fourth Monday each month at 10:00 a.m. Village Administrator and Village Clerk
  • Public Works Supervisor/Road Department/Parks Department
  • Police Chief/Police Department
  • Planning and Zoning Commission – Meets on the first Thursday of each month at 6:30 p.m.

Public documents are available for viewing by appointment with the FOIA officer during regular business hours. The first 50 pages of copies requested are provided free; copies over 50 pages are $0.15 per page. Color and oversize copies are provided at actual cost. Digital copies are provided at fees established by section 6 of the Freedom of Information Act.
